Turner Residential

If you are looking for an affordable family community in central Austin, then Allandale may be for you. Its borders are Mo-Pac to the west, Burnet to the east, Anderson lane to the north and Shoal Creek to the south. Allandale is a larger community of about 20,000 residents just 15 minutes from downtown Austin.

Residents send their kids to the exemplary rated Gullett Elementary. Lamar is the middle school and McCallum for the high school years.

The typical home in Allandale is a 3-4 bedroom smaller single story home built in the 50-60’s with prices over $300,000 but they can go as high as $600,000.

Burnet Road and Anderson Lane keep you close to home for your shopping and dining needs. You won’t go hungry with all the restaurants like Hoover’s, Phil’s Icehouse, Ichiban, and a multitude of fast food as well. And for dessert try Amy’s Ice Cream or Hey Cupcake.

Northwest District (Beverly Sheffield) Park offers you a little of everything for your outdoor needs, including pools, playgrounds,  picnic areas, ball fields, tennis courts, volleyball, ponds and a stream on 30 acres.

The Allandale Neighborhood Association will keep you up to date on the “happenings” in the “hood”. They have an active calendar of social events from community organized garage sales to 4th of July parades.

Easily one of Austin’s hottest urban markets over the last 3 years, most of the houses in Crestview were built beginning in the 50’s as starter homes, and maintain a charming neighborhood.  Driving north on Woodrow makes an interesting study in architecture, as you can see the evolution of the starter home from the post-WWII 50’s through the slightly too hip 70’s.  These homes have remained good places to raise children for homeowners who couldn’t bear the thought of moving to the suburbs but were priced out of Hyde Park and surrounding areas.

Starter homes in Crestview “start” in the high 200′s, and there is a huge wave of remodeling going on that is pushing home prices even higher.

Crestview is bordered by Anderson Lane to the north, Justin Lane to the south, North Lamar Boulevard to the east and Burnet Road to the west. It is located north of the city’s urban core. Now with the light rail running, Crestview residents’ can easily get on board at the Crestview Station and on to Downtown with ease.

Home of the original Threadgills which hosted the first liquor license in Austin and the talented Janis Joplin. Other restaurants include The Little Deli for awesome pizza. For Mexican try Enchiladas Y Mas .

The neighborhood association keeps a website and blog to keep you informed of what’s going on.

Children in the neighborhood attend Brentwood Elementary School, Lamar Middle School, and McCallum High School.
